I enjoy working with people and being an integral part of their life cycle events: from talking through how the venue will be set up for the comfort of both you and your guests; to writing new liturgy; to answering the myriad of questions which inevitably arise.

I typically meet with celebrant(s) twice prior to the event, although I have also officiated at a touching, and much admired wedding for a celebrity couple whose personal assistant handled most of the communication! My religious sensibility runs toward the contemporary.
For example:
- I strive to use only gender-neutral language when/if I am referring to G~d.
- Treat young adults no differently than adults: respecting their opinions and not ‘talking down to them’.
- As a gay man myself, I encourage gay celebrants and their families to feel as proud and authentic as all other ritual participants.
- I do extensive research in the history and tradition surrounding rituals and customs so that my innovations are solidly grounded in knowledge, rather than running away from the uncomfortable or the seemingly irrelevant.
- I have yet to wear a robe while officiating, although I never say never!
